To measure an existing bracelet, open it and lay it flat. Measure from one end to the other, including the clasp, and record the full length in centimetres and inches. Do not measure only the decorative part or straight across a closed bracelet.
What you need
- A flat surface.
- A ruler or measuring tape marked in centimetres and inches.
- A bracelet that currently fits the wearer well.
- A note of whether the bracelet is worn close or loose.
Measure it in five steps
- Open the clasp carefully.
- Lay the bracelet flat without pulling or stretching it.
- Place the zero mark at the outer end of the clasp.
- Measure to the outer end at the other side.
- Record the full length in both centimetres and inches.
Do not confuse length, circumference and diameter
The full bracelet length is the end-to-end measurement of the open bracelet. Wrist circumference is the distance around the wrist. Diameter is the straight line across a closed circle. These numbers are related, but they are not interchangeable.
Compare the construction too
Two bracelets with the same full length can feel different. A slim flexible band uses the available space differently from a thick or rigid design. Look at the band, clasp and overall thickness before treating one bracelet as an exact match for another.
Using the measurement for a gift
If you are borrowing the bracelet secretly, note how it normally sits on his wrist. Does it stay in place or move freely? That preference matters when the measurement falls between two size ranges. Our guide to buying a bracelet without knowing his wrist size covers the other safe options.
Compare with the Reynborg size guide
Use the full men’s bracelet size chart and check the product page for the model you want. Record both units so you can compare without converting during the purchase.

Measure twice
Measure twice. If the results differ, lay the bracelet flat again and check that the ruler starts at zero. Then read how a men’s bracelet should fit before choosing a size.
